Role specifics:

You will work towards a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship qualification and as such applicants must not already hold a Data or IT related qualification or similar at level 3 or above.

GCSE’s (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/grade 4 or above (or be expected to obtain these by September 2024) or must commit to achieving within the duration of the apprenticeship.


The Role:

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic apprentice who is ready to embark on their initial working journey with Bolton Council. Our apprenticeship posts are designed to support and help you discover and enhance your unique skills and talents. Through hands on experience and personalised mentorship, you will gain the confidence and knowledge to excel in your chosen career path with us.

Don’t worry about experience; we are recruiting on passion and drive. This is an entry-level role that is ideal for a recent school or college leaver aiming to kickstart their career within Bolton Council.

Whilst working towards the successful completion of your apprenticeship programme, you will learn on the job, assisting and supporting IT and Data functions across our Schools ICT, Information Management and Policy, Strategy & Performance services. Learning from experienced colleges you will make best use of technology to create and update databases, gather, analyse, evaluate and present different types of data, and provide quality analysis to managers and staff to support the planning and continual improvement of our services.


About You

We are searching for an individual who is highly motivated with a desire to develop in this apprenticeship role. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively both within a team and independently. You will have good time management and communication skills and real enthusiasm to learn. If you enjoy IT, especially data, and are familiar with the use of Microsoft Office and are looking for an opportunity to make a difference, you might be just what we are looking for

Applicants must hold GCSE’s (or equivalent) in maths and English at grade C/grade 4 or above or be expected to obtain these by September 2024.

This is a developmental role, as part of this opportunity, you will work towards a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship qualification and as such applicants must not already hold a Data or IT related qualification or similar at level 3 or above.
