Main duties of the job

Clerk Receptionist on one of the reception desks within the Dental Hospital. Checking patients in for their appointments, booking further appointments and answering high volume of telephone calls. Ensuring that the patients case notes are available for their appointment.

To provide an efficient and effective administrative service to patients and the multi- disciplinary team.

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE in English Grade C or equivalent or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.

Desirable

ECDL RSA 1 or 2 equivalent

Skills

Essential

Very good keyboard skills. Good communication, organisational skills Accuracy and attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills. Able to prioritise workload Excellent telephone manner.

Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a customer care role within an office based environment.

Desirable

Working within NHS or hospital environment.

Knowledge

Essential

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
