Brief Description

We’re looking for an outstanding, sparkling storyteller and visual communicator to join us as our Filming Manager for the Network Rail Southern Region. Focusing on delivering innovative, creative internal communications to the 8000 people working in the region you’ll be completely at home scripting, filming and editing content. You’ll also help comms colleagues to improve their digital content – specifically filming. The key output for the role is to support a monthly 20-minute magazine show “Team Talk”, but you’ll also be delivering other video content to support our internal communications team. Graphic design experience is not essential but would be welcomed

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities

1.Work with colleagues and stakeholders across the region and wider business to produce films, photography, and supporting collateral such as PowerPoint slide packs and infographics, that engage audiences to further business objectives.

2.Develop and build a strong understanding of the business and its audiences to help inform delivery of films that will further business objectives through sharing best practice and encouraging ways of working.

3.Manage all aspects of camera, lighting and sound preparation and operation for film and video production activities; creatively frame and compose shots to deliver high quality films.

4.Deliver all communications to a consistent tone, style, accessibility and design in line with relevant technical and national digital brand policies and guidelines.

5.Understand and contribute to the post-production process, using appropriate editing software and techniques; publish via a wide range of channels.

6.Supervise external suppliers where appropriate on film and video production projects; establish effective ways of working with the supplier to deliver quality products.

7.Work collaboratively with the team and broader communications department to deliver joined-up internal and external communications, supporting corporate and regional communications activity as required.

8.Provide logistical support to the filming team and produce reports on communications activities to support governance processes and inform best practice.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

·Educated to degree level, relevant qualification or relevant professional experience

·Proficient in the use of professional broadcast cameras, lenses, sound and lighting equipment

·Excellent inter-personal skills, able to make interviewees feel at ease

·Good compositional and storytelling skills, specifically for moving image.

·Proficient in digital media and footage management

·Good organisational and time management skills

·Good attention to detail

·Experience in video editing techniques and software

·PTS track safety competence (if not held will be required to undertake training)
