Role Purpose:
  • Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, responsible for developing the tools for the RST to champion and support delivery of key initiatives across the Retail Channel.
  • To continually improve retail execution, in line with annual planning priorities and Planning, Comms & Training framework within Retail Strategy & Operations.
  • Ensuring that retailers are kept at the heart of retail plans by supporting an effective Retailer contact model to achieve sales, profit and Good Cause contribution targets in line with Allwyn’s fourth licence bid commitments.

Team Description
  • A core function within the Retail Strategy & Operations Team whose mission is to bring The National Lottery (TNL) to life for retailers.
  • The team owns the development and execution of the Go to Market planning process which ensures all Retail priorities, timings, requirements are aligned to the overarching delivery of the consumer plan.
  • The team leads on the delivery of the Retailer contact model, coordinating resources across the Retail Sales Team (comprising 150 heads) with third party agencies and other internal resources (Customer & Retail Care, Concierge, Customer Development Team), to ensure Retailers feel engaged and fully supported by Allwyn.
  • The team partners with the leadership teams of the Retail Sales Team (RST),Retail Channels Team and Supply Chain Team to ensure that all ABP initiatives and business priorities are delivered using effective resources and tools available.
  • They own and operationalise all sales performance tools for the RST and Channels teams and are instrumental in driving delivery of ‘The Value of Lottery’ category story.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support improving Retail channel operations, capabilities, processes, and tools.
  • Understand and develop the requirements of GEM suite capability for the RST user base.
  • Build and deliver quarterly journey plans for the RST using CACI planning software.
  • Support development of ways to deliver industry leading  in store execution of The National Lottery across the Retail estate, taking into account format and sector nuances, by retailer.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Channel Operations and Retail leadership teams & maintain key retail processes to ensure the field team can meet KPI/ OPM deliverables.
  • Support the Retail Operations Manager to shape and implement the strategic priorities within PCT and Go To Market frameworks.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to feed recommendations and prioritisation of activities for all Retail teams.
  • Monitor and action any new requests for the RS&OPs team via the front door process.
  • Ensure timely reporting and call file creation via third party agency dashboards. Agree and deliver an effective meeting cadence and reporting frequency with DSMs, Senior RSMs, RSMs and Champions as necessary.
  • Work with the Strategy team data analysts, within Retail Strategy & Operations, to deliver accurate ROI reports for all third party activities in line with agreed reporting cycles.
  • Support the building of yearly and quarterly Retail Contact Model and the delivery of briefings, via face to face conferences &/or virtual meetings to the Retail Sales Team.
  • Support the supplier relationship and day to day issue resolution for Zaptic.
  • Support the building of decks and documents to cascade information to retail functions through their team meetings and regular workgroups such as Retail Channels Steering Group.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team on RST bootstock orders and collation of Scratchcard return bags that are to be sent to retailers during a closure.
  • Work with the Operational Sales Team to build and provide call files for activities that are being supported across Retail.
  • Conduct monthly rigorous audits across key reporting and RST tools such as Sales Presenter, Site,Stock,Sell dashboard and One Doc.
  • Working closely with RSMs on day to day issue resolution and cascading any relevant risk or escalation to ROM.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of sales impact analysis and achievement of ROI.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of retail execution including brand activation.
  • Experience and knowledge of successful selling and influencing skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate and present with impact to senior colleagues.
  • Skilled in prioritisation and multi-task management under pressure.
  • Ability to understand key business operational reporting.
  • Previous experience of developing and managing business processes preferable.
  • Advanced ability to use the Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite and Zaptic.
  • Foster excellent cross departmental relationships to forge better future plans and resolve current issues.
  • Ability to successfully communicate and influence to ‘Head of’ and ‘Director’ level.
  • Interest and knowledge of  current and future technological developments for retail.
  • Retailer centric and with demonstrable experience of always putting the retailer at the heart
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally to deliver complex projects with multiple deliverables and priorities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and is able to present confidently to senior managers and teams
  • Commercially minded- able to identify opportunities
  • Naturally curious, challenges the norm, whilst being receptive and considerate to other ways of approaching things
  • Always looking to better themselves – understanding of their own strengths and areas for development
