Position Overview

The Purchasing Coordinator has responsibility for the purchasing/scheduling of raw materials and packaging materials needed for the good functioning of the Tamworth facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

The creation of purchase orders for RM’s, Packaging and Bought-In products in alignment with system parameters and analysis.For direct and indirect spend, where this is not under the control of the central sourcing team, select appropriate suppliers and negotiate prices and other relevant parameters, to achieve the most cost-effective outcome while protecting customer service.Utilizing SAP/MRP to manage inventory levels of raw materials and packaging, consistent with sourcing and operational guidelines and financial targets. Determine the appropriate balance of RM considering shelf-life, inventory targets, lot sizes etc.Collaborate with the Central Sourcing department on market consultation or information about suppliers and estimated demands as well as the introduction of new materials/suppliers.Establish and maintain a good relationship with all suppliers.Actively work with all internal stakeholders (Sourcing, Planning, Production, R&D, Quality, Sales) to minimize slow moving inventory, focus on items with >90 and > 180 days of consumption.Work with stakeholders to minimize devaluated materials, reserved materials, and eventual needs to write-off materials.Control relevant aspects of the introduction of new or amended materials, working with the key stakeholders, including planning, production, product management and logistics. Raise the necessary BoM change requests and ensure that the relevant information is present in SAP, including prices and suppler information, as per H.B. Fuller guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

SAP/MRP experience, minimum 1 year.Experience in a purchasing or materials management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience working with a supplier base.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good computer skills (Excel, Word)Ability to organize workload, determine priorities and establish and monitor deadlines.Work with minimum supervision.Strong analytical and planning skills.Ability to work with and influence colleagues from different functions and levels.Strong attention to details. Decisions directly impact customer service and company revenue.
