Job summary

Barnet Childrens Integrated Therapies have an exciting opportunity to be involved in a project working with our education partners the Barnet Education's Specialist Inclusion Teams. This project role is available for one full time position from May 2024 working in mainstream primary and secondary schools across Barnet. The role is suitable for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist who can work independently in this context role. The successful candidate will support young people with an EHCP in mainstream schools as well as being involved in the designand delivery of a Targeted training programme for staff and parents across Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated Occupational Therapist who is experienced in interdisciplinary working with young people in the community. OTs in Barnet work as part of a dynamic and innovative Integrated Therapy Team which includes Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants as well as OTs.

Main duties of the job

1. Working closely with Barnet Education's Specialist Inclusion Service to train and support theimplementation of Occupational Therapy advice and strategies into the mainstream schools core To be responsible for the assessment of young people in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with a range offunctional needs and the provision of advice for them, their families and the staff working To provide targeted training and support for staff working in mainstream primary and secondaryschools4. To be innovative and develop new training offers to schools to meet the sensory and motor based needsof their pupils while upskilling staff on OT based strategies and recommendations.

oAdvanced knowledge of the evidence base of rehabilitation relating to specialist area. Excellent specific therapy assessment and treatment skills in field of specialism utilising a range of approaches. Able to independently manage own and others clinical caseload and prioritise as required Demonstrates effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies Clear, concise verbal and written reporting skills Excellent presentation skills of complex information oIT skills including word processing and excel
