Job Purpose
As part of our Apprentice intake for September 2024, we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Apprentice to work within our Poole region. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the engineering industry.
The Role
As an Apprentice, you will be working alongside a team of experienced engineers, assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance across various client sites. You will receive on-the-job training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance
- Learning how to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Following health and safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Strong interest in mechanical engineering
- Enthusiastic and motivated to learn
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- GCSEs in Maths, English and Science
- Due to the nature of the work we complete, you must be 18+ years old.
- You will sometimes be required to get to site on your own so a full UK driving license and own vehicle is necessary.
Desirable:
- Previous work experience or education related to engineering
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical work
