Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident Nursing associate/Assistant Practitioner with the right skills to complement our small multidisciplinary team.

You will work within our newly commissioned Day service and network closely with our existing community teams helping families and young people to thrive. As a new service there will be lots of opportunity for contributing to the new model of care for eating disorders in the region.

We will provide Supervision, reflective practice, training, and opportunities for professional development. We are passionate about improving standards and service user/carer experiences.

We would love to meet you if you have experience working with children and young people with eating disorders but also If you're an experienced Practitioner who hasn't worked in eating disorders before, you will have many transferable skills to bring to the role and our experienced team members can support you to grow and develop.

This role will initially be based at our Ida Darwin site in Fulbourn before relocating in approx. 12 months (date TBC) to our Brookside Family Consultation Clinic in Cambridge.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the specialist CAMHS Eating Disorder team to provide interventions, physical monitoring, and co-ordination of care for young people presenting with eating disorders and their families.

Intensively support families, children and young people within the Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa Model (FT-AN)

1. To engage with Families and young people where a diagnosis of an eating disorder has led to a referral for intensive treatment delivering person centred Deliver meal support, meal supervision, role modelling a healthy attitude to food, problem solving and practical assistance to young people, parents and carers as part of the agreed care Provide pyscho-education on eating disorders and support with a range of practical, health and social care interventions for families & young people, under the supervision of a senior clinician from the Undertake physical observations and medical monitoring procedures where appropriately trained to do so and respond accordingly to any Assess risk, Plan, deliver and evaluate service users care in conjunction with the Maintain adequate healthcare records in line with policy and guidance, practice within professional boundaries and in accordance with code of Support day to day running of service including carrying out daily tasks and supporting students/new members of staff8. Liaise with external organisations as required, promoting partnership working to ensure holistic care and attending review meetings as delegated.
