This role will suit an experienced therapy assistant or instructor who possesses relevant theoretical knowledge and practical training. The successful applicant will predominately work alongside the inpatient care team at Helen House in Cowley.

This is a full-time role for hours per week, however, we are open to discussions about flexible working for a minimum of 4 days per week.

Main duties of the job

As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will report into the Physiotherapist, and will be supported in providing guidance and interventions for children and young people staying at Helen & Douglas House. You will participate in research and evidence-based practices to help audit, develop and improve the physiotherapy offer at the charity. You will also support the Care Team with the safe use of equipment, such as wheelchairs or mobility aids, providing training where necessary.

Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice charity based in Oxford, providing palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families. We foster a climate where team members feel able to openly question, debate and appropriately challenge their own and the practice of others; as such, we welcome new ideas and strive to constantly improve our delivery of care to our patients.
