Learning Support Assistant needed in Winchester

We are looking to find a Learning Support Assistant to join one of our KS2 support teams at a partner school in Winchester. The educator we are looking for would be working in our Year 3 class support a child 1:1 who has autism.

This position is required on a full-time basis in compliance with the pupils EHCP. The pupil requires support due to learning difficulties. The pupil has planned intervention sessions and is full time working within the main year 3 classroom.

 

As a Support  Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and management.
  • Supporting students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Helping to maintain a safe and positive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with the implementation of lesson plans and educational activities.
  • Providing support to students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure student success.

 

Requirements: 

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential. 

• A genuine passion for education and a commitment to the well-being of students. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic educational setting. 

• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
