Payroll & Accounts Assistant - Preston based (PR4 0HF)

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a hard-working and organised individual with a keen eye for detail to join our growing team in an exciting, fast-paced environment within our modern Preston Office as a Payroll & Accounts Assistant on a Full time basis.

Founded in 2017, Spencer Clarke Group are a multi-sector agency recruiting nationwide within the Education & SEND, Accountancy & Finance, Construction, Corporate Functions, NHS, Housing & Social Care markets, supplying temporary and permanent staff within both the public and private sector. It is an exciting time to join a young, ambitious, and vibrant company as we continue our growth.

For this role, experience in a similar role is advantageous. This is a full-time role where you will be undertaking a vital role in supporting the business with our payroll functions. Salaries range from £24,000 to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience, with regular incentives and bonuses available. This is a very important role within the business as you will be essentially managing your own workload and ensuring timescales are consistently adhered to.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Daily Tasks include:

  • Inputting bills on QuickBooks & raising self bills for specific clients.
  • Invoicing on QuickBooks
  • Self-Bill invoicing for limited companies
  • Processing payroll for temporary staff (liasing with consultants to Generate weekly payment runs to umbrella companies to process payroll and inputting these payments into QuickBooks)
  • Setting up payments on the bank
  • Receiving payments on QuickBooks and reconciling accounts.
  • Responding to and resolving payroll queries
  • HMRC reporting & MI Reporting
  • Limited company invoicing
  • General bookkeeping tasks - using Quickbooks online
  • Filing receipts & accounting for VAT
  • Billings Reporting
  • Aged debt chasing

Additional information:

  • This is a Full time post and is fully office based
  • Working days will be Monday, Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm, with 1-hour lunch break.
