The Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy are seeking a part-time research group administrator to join our friendly professional services team at their West Cambridge site.

You will provide an administrative/secretarial service for the academics/principal investigators (PIs) and their research team. Tasks will include responding to enquiries, diary management, travel arrangements, help Principal Investigators to prepare research grant applications; maintain accurate records of expenditure, assisting with conference organisation, sourcing and ordering venues, group accommodation, catering and travel.

The successful candidate will be used to working without supervision in a busy environment whilst maintaining high levels of support. Previous experience of working in a HE administrative support role will be an advantage.

The role involves day-to-day contact with academics, principal investigators, researchers, professional service staff and postgraduate students, requires the ability to communicate effectively with this wide range of people. The successful candidate will be highly organised and possess methodical working methods. On the job training in use of the University's systems, policies and procedures will be provided.
