DescriptionWe are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our experienced finance team here at CHL Mortgages. The role will be a 12 month maternity cover. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the day to day process of all accounts payable activities, customer payments and any other activities required by the Finance department. The finance department work on a 2-3 days home working hybrid basis out of our Fleet office and we would expect the successful candidate to fit in with this.
You must have the right to work in the UK. Any candidates that requires VISA Sponsorship in the future please be aware that CHL doesn't currently offer sponsorship and has no plans to in the future, so your application should take that into consideration.  
Key Responsibilities
  • Recording of supplier invoices received, and distribution for approval to various departments.
  • Processing payment runs on a regular basis, via Access Financials Accounts Payable function or via manual payment.
  • Monitor and review of outstanding invoices with prompt resolution of queries.
  • Answering and resolving supplier queries.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statement and creditors ledgers on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Daily processing of required payments, including but not limited to, completion advances and customer refunds.
  • Processing of employee expenses and company credit cards.
  • Complying with finance procedures and updating when necessary.
  • Assist other team members within Finance Department with any other duties as required.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Good understanding of accountancy and book-keeping
  • Strong IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel to a reasonable standard and an ability to learn new systems quickly 
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
  • Being organised and methodical
  • Being able to learn quickly
