The Role:
As a Senior Therapy Radiographer with us, you'll play a pivotal role in you are part of a dedicated team responsible for radiotherapy services within the Oxford centre. You will work as part of an integrated team, expected to rotate across multiple treatment platforms & modalities within the centre as the need arises to support the overall radiotherapy service. You will be willing to build a wide-ranging clinical skillset and develop yourself into an experienced imaging and treatment practitioner for complex treatments, including SABR, SRS and adaptive MR-Linac treatments.
You will be comfortable delivering process innovation, with the drive and tenacity to ensure that excellence is achieved while maintaining positive relationships. You will be an experienced Therapy Radiographer, comfortable and confident working collaboratively with a wide range of health care professionals. What You'll Do:
Liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary team. Follow all duties as a health and care professions council (HCPC) registrant (standards of conduct, performance, and ethics). Follow all health and care professions council (HCPC) standards of proficiency. Contribute to the effective performance of the radiotherapy team. Create the right environment for all clinical, medical physics, diagnostic and radiotherapy staff to work effectively together as a team. Ensure that clinical protocols, policies, and procedures are followed and operate in full compliance. Ensure that you maintain safe and effective working practices, including radiation protection, MR safety, the operation of equipment and systems in use in the centre. Ensure that all patients experience the highest levels of service, in line with the agreed expectations for imaging and treatment within GenesisCare centres. Ensure that the unit maintains accurate and complete records of patient treatments, in line with the agreed processes within GenesisCare. Ensure that GenesisCare clinical audit, radiation protection, MR safety and quality assurance requirements are met. Ensure that compliments are recorded alongside any incidents or complaints that are also thoroughly and properly investigated, and that the necessary safeguards are taken to prevent recurrence. Ensure effective working relationships with all key stakeholders including patients and their carers, clinicians and their colleagues, investors and funders, partnership organisations, cancer charities, suppliers. Support the ongoing improvement and continuous development of the care and services provided within the centre and to promote the ongoing success of the company. Contribute to the growth and progress of the radiotherapy service as requested by the Lead Therapy Radiographer. Lead by example taking an active clinical role in all areas of the patient pathway. Pro-actively maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with GenesisCare and HCPC professional standards. Work out of hours as required to ensure that breakdowns or crises are resolved with minimum impact to service and treatments. Participate in the development of imaging and treatment protocols in conjunction with the Lead Therapy Radiographer, Physics, Dosimetry, and other staff as required to ensure safe, high quality and efficient use of all radiotherapy platforms. Participate and collaborate in research and clinical trials activity to ensure GenesisCare is contributing to the radiotherapy evidence base, and in so doing promotes GenesisCare within the UK and abroad as a leader in the radiotherapy field. Support all workflows by engaging with Dosimetrists, Clinical Oncologists, MR Radiologists and Researchers to ensure the radiotherapy service is at the forefront of clinical and technical service delivery – including Hypofractionation, Dose Escalation and Dose Adapted Radiotherapy delivery strategies.What You'll Have:
Experience and skills:
Experience within all aspects of radiotherapy; quality assurance, pre-treatment simulation, on set imaging, dosimetry review and treatment delivery Evidence of working collaboratively as part of a team Evidence of empathetic and a holistic approach to patient care Understanding of governance Evidence of effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills Strong relationship building skills Ability to solve problems Able to work flexibly to achieve GenesisCare business objectives Current, or willingness to undertake, cannulation training & accreditation to support the clinical service Desirable: experience of proactively evolving and novel radiation therapy imaging and dose delivery techniquesQualifications and Knowledge:
