Start here. Grow here.

Our Streets and Technology team, within our Transportation business line, has an exciting opportunity for a Streets Director to lead the delivery of transportation engineering schemes across our Central Region which includes our Southwest and Welsh market.  There are six office bases within this region. We love that our clients consistently rate us highly for our work in the transportation sector, including active travel, bus priority, road safety and traffic engineering, mass transit and continue to deliver high profile, award winning and impactful projects across the region.

In this role, you will have a specific focus on operational delivery, project and resource management, workload pipeline, people management and staff engagement. You will be part of the UK and Ireland Streets Management Team and will work with the other Regions and our overseas design resource to maintain a steady workflow and to provide our clients with the best team for the project.  Not all projects are based in UK and Ireland and therefore there will be opportunities to work with our colleagues in other parts of the world.

In addition, we support other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised transportation interface.
  • Oversee: Ensure that we are resourced with teams that have the right qualities to provide the services and standards that our clients expect for current and future needs.
  • Provide Expertise: Offer technical knowledge and expertise to the design team on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual phases to implementation.
  • Ensure Quality: Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will hold our clients’ hands and overcome problems in unison when they inevitably arise. Provide Health, Safety and Wellness leadership to the Region consistent with AECOM’s safety policies and procedures to deliver a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be Accountable for the Regions performance versus the Financial Year plan and outlook
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the contracted pipeline revenues for the Region by ensuring that our project and financial systems and processes are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure that the Region has in place the right resource management processes, including collaboration across regions and with our Overseas Design Resource, project managers and technical experts, to provide predictable workload forecasts and allocate resources effectively to optimise project and business performance.
  • Maintain a culture where AECOM is recognised as a great place to work by upholding and communicating AECOM’s values (incl. wider social values), championing equity, diversity and inclusion, promoting employee engagement, career development and succession pathways.
  • Work alongside the Work Winning team to support client development and growth opportunities through mining of existing contracts, winning new business and optimising return on client account management.
  • Identify and attract new talent and lead strategic and senior recruitment within the Region.
  • Apply AECOM governance to all regional key pursuit Go/No Go Processes in accordance with our delegated powers.
  • Drive change programs as and when to increase efficiency, profitability, and operational quality within and across regions.
  • Drive project delivery and commercial excellence, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to the right quality and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all AECOM policies and procedures and uphold our core values.
