Main duties of the job

This will include providingclinical supervision, clinical and quality assurance and line management oflocality teams. The role will be working alongside key external stakeholdersand developing relationships between the MHST and educational settings. Inaddition, Clinical Team Leaders will be involved in the delivery of our serviceoffer, where appropriate, which will support in clinical and quality governanceand ensuring the needs of CYP are met. This includes responsibility for thecoordination of services and to promote optimum health, self-management andeffective liaison between agencies and ensuring that a personalised service toclients/service users is delivered in accordance with LPT Trust standards.

As Clinical Team Leader you willalso manage a your own case load delivering early intervention to young people,including complex cases and mental health assessments.

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) are part of an excitingproject funded by NHS England and Improvement, Health Education England and theIntegrated Care Board which commenced across Leicester, Leicestershire andRutland in 2020. The MHST service has been set up in response to the 2017government Green Paper: Transforming Children and Young Peoples Mental HealthProvision. The aim of the nationally driven MHSTs is to reduce healthinequalities and increase access to Mental Health support for children andyoung people (CYP) through early intervention and Low Intensity CognitiveBehavioural Therapy (Li CBT).

The MHST service works in selected schools within locality areasand have three core functions:

1. Delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderatemental health issues

2. Supporting the senior mental health lead in each school orcollege to introduce or develop their whole school or college approach.

3. Giving timely advice to school and college staff and liaisingwith external specialist services, to help children and young people to get theright support and stay in education.

Clinical practitioners within the service aim to provide highquality, safe and responsive mental health services to children, young people,parents/carers and professionals provided in accordance with the principles ofthe THRIVE model, in partnership with service users and partner agencies,working as part of a multi-agency system.

The Senior Clinician role will manage and take overall clinicaland operational responsibility and oversight for care quality performance andclinical activity by providing professional leadership and guidance, clinicaladvice and management in relation to the key dimensions of health care qualityto ensure that interventions delivered by the team are safe, effective and meetthe needs of individuals, families and communities in line with local andnational development plans, Trust policies and procedures.

In addition, Senior Clinicians will be involved in thedelivery of our service offer, where appropriate, which will support inclinical and quality governance and ensuring the needs of CYP are met. Thisincludes responsibility for the coordination of services and to promote optimumhealth, self-management and effective liaison between agencies and ensuringthat a personalised service to clients/service users is delivered in accordancewith LPT Trust standards. The post holder will work as part of the serviceoperational leadership team through supporting the Family Service Manager tocontinue to mobilise the MHST offer across LLR

Experience

Essential

1.Experience in working with children and young people and managing your own caseload. demonstrate supervision and management experience, including sickness and absence management , PDP work and clinical support. 3.Demonstrates significant experience undertaking mental health assessments, complex case work and delivery of evidence based interventions. 4.Evidence of project management and completion. 5.Evidence of working in a multi disciplinary team and supporting managers in ongoing development of service projects. demonstrate significant safeguarding experience and supporting staff with safeguarding concerns. demonstrate experience in producing and delivering training

Desirable

1.Experience of working within an MHST service. 2.Experience of working with System one. demonstrate operational management experience. 4.Ability to understand and analyse data to make strategic decisions. 5.Experience of ability to write and present reports on service development, workforce transformation and budgeting. demonstrate delivery of clinical supervision. 7.Safeguarding lead training

Qualifications

Essential

degree (or equivalent level qualification) and evidence of practical application of skills, knowledge and attitude on the subject of Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health in; Nursing, 2.Professional Registration with a recognised regulatory body in the UK. 3.Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months. 4.Commitment to complete Post Graduate Certificate in low intensity supervision (If not already attained).

Desirable

1.Masters level qualification / 3 X post graduate management qualification (or equivalent experience). 2.Leadership or Management qualification. 3.Completed training course in CBT-based clinical supervision. qualifying training in methods of working with children and young people with mental health problems, counselling, family therapy, CBT.
