To provide clinical leadership to the wards within the Hospital and to work with the wider Senior Nurse and Management Group within the Directorate and Forensic Division.

Responsible and accountable for supporting the Operational Manager, General Manager and Associate Director of Nursing, Quality and Patient Experience, in the delivery of key performance indicators and for the delivery of agreed programmes of development and improvement, ensuring the objectives and targets are achieved as determined by National, Trust, Divisional and Social Care standards.

Line management of the Advance Nurse Practitioners

Contribute to the development of high standards of nursing practice within the Clinical Service to ensure compassionate and effective care is provided to the patients across the Directorate.

Support and deputise for the Operational Lead in all aspects of professional leadership and service and change management within the service.

The role requires a clinically experienced Forensic Mental Health/ Learning Disability Registered Nurse, who can provide strong leadership and direction to the multi-disciplinary teams and nursing staff at all grades. t

The post holder will be required to have flexibility and adaptability to support the leadership of a nursing resource across a range of complex and diverse service areas.

Deputises for the Head of Nursing as required and work closely with the DMT and Clinical Teams

The post holder will develop and support strategies relating to recruitment and retention.

The post holder will actively contribute to implementing strategies within the Directorate and wider hospital.

The post-holder will take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence-based practice patients with complex needs, ensuring that it supports and reflects patients individual needs, the trust objectives and professional guidance.

To develop ways to communicate with patients and receive their feedback and adapt services to meet individual patient requirements.

A multidisciplinary approach is adopted, including the carer feedback to deliver positive and evidence-based care.

Continuous personal development through the utilisation of regular supervision, annual appraisal and training where appropriate.

Nurses attend regular provision that is patient and service relevant and promotes reflective practices.
