Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to take on the role of senior care co-ordination/key worker within our North Oxfordshire CAMHS team .

The role will include working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and leading the team to develop and improve our provision of supporting CYP with complex mental health presentations.

You will work along side our multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses , Social Workers, Occupational Therapists , Family therapists , Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrists.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you'll deliver generic mental health assessments and risk assessments of children and young people open to the Getting More Help Team. Depending on the needs of the YP this could either be on an urgent or routine basis. Working collaboratively with CYP families/other agencies you will develop holistic plans of care which are evidence based.

You'll hold a complex clinical caseload which consists of working with other services both within and outside CAMHS as well as providing evidence based therapies. At present we are achieving this on a hybrid basis with a mixture of office working and working from home.

We'll also need you to take part in the duty rota and work with the duty lead within the team. This entails the clinician to respond and support plans for children and young people who are presenting with an element of risk and our open to our service.

You will take lead on developing services and supporting less senior clinicians by way of supervision and providing opportunities for training.

The GMH North team is a supportive team with a particular focus on clinicians wellbeing. We understand that working in CAMHS can be challenging and therefore strive to ensure that clinicians are well supported. Teams managers work alongside clinicians to ensure that individual job plans are created to support clinicians in managing capacity of caseloads.

We ensure that we celebrate our successes and acknowledge the hard work we do to support children and YP. There is a strong sense of team working and supporting one another.

There will be opportunities to develop clinical skills through ongoing training. Mandatory training will be provided as well as ongoing training to undertake the role such as CBT/DBT informed training. In house training by CAMHS specialist teams occur regularly and on an ad hoc basis.

Job responsibilities

The CAMHS North Getting More Help Team serves the community of Witney, Bicester, Banbury and parts of Oxford providing a service that operates Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. We are looking for a candidate that is able to work on a full time basis.

We also continue to deliver the majority of our service via a digital platform with a mix of office based work (which can be achieved via satellite bases in these areas) and working from home. The applicant will receive the necessary equipment to undertake the role.

Person Specification

Experiance

Essential

Substantial knowledge and experience of mental health care working across different settings. Experience in working within community CAMHS and managing a complex case caseload. Highly extensive CAMHS clinical experience. Experience of working in a community mental health setting

Qualifications

Essential

Qualification in Nursing, Social work or Occupational Therapy. Registered with a governing body such as NMC, HCPC.

Desirable

To hold an advanced professional/clinical qualification such as CBT or DBT.

Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Ability to communicate/listen formally and informally, verbally and in writing . Confident and articulate Ability to reflect on own practice and willingness to be involved in supervision. Flexible and resourceful in coping under pressure and with conflicting demands.
