Job summary

The Domestic & Linen Services Supervisor will supportthe Domestic & Linen Services Manager in ensuring that the Domestic &Linen Service delivery to County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust(CDDFT) are maintained within contractual parameters and Synchronicity CareLimited (SCL) budget as set.

They will also support, monitor and assist indeveloping the service to the satisfaction of the SCL, CDDFT and other PFIPartners, ensuring standards set by the company are followed to ensure theconsistent delivery of service through adhering to the contract specificationand establishing good working relationships with stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will effectively support and supervise thedomestic & linen services team using available resources, whilstmaintaining and continuing to improve the quality of the service. This includes monitoring the levels ofcleanliness within the hospital environment, ensuring adherence to National Standardsof Healthcare Cleanliness 2021, all relevant method statements, policies andprocedures, ensuring corrective measures are taken within agreed rectificationtimes.

The post holder will be expected to co-ordinateand effectively communicate with other departments within the hospital environmentand across the Trust as appropriate.

Job responsibilities

To maintain, audit and monitor cleaning standards aligned tothe National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 and linen standardswithin your areas of responsibility to agreed national guidelines, Trustrequirements and take corrective action where required.

Responsiblefor ensuring the correct application of the Quality Management System where itinterfaces with their daily activities

Safe useof chemicals, machinery and appropriate use of (Personal ProtectiveEquipment) by staff under your control.

Controlthe issue of appropriate cleaning items for use at departmental level.

Maintainstaffing rotas / schedules as specified and ensure any remedial tasks arecarried out in a timely fashion.

Ensuredepartmental resources are correctly managed and maintained throughout the workarea , stock and equipment.

Report anystructural or fabric repairs to be made good via appropriate systems.

Monitorstaff for adherence to all relevant policies and procedures that are relevantto the area and that they are working in a safe manner.

Identifystaff training / development needs using the Trusts appraisal system.

Organiseappropriate training for the various staff groups under your control includingnew employees.

Presentaccurately collected and analysed information to the Head of OperationalServices to facilitate the effective use of departmental budgetary resources.

Assist inthe development of departmental policies and procedures and oversee theirimplementation.

Organiseand control the staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintainedat all times.

Maintainappropriate records to ensure compliance with all current Trust policies andprocedures.

Monitorstaff time sheets / attendance and sickness records in accordance with therelevant Trust policies and procedures.

Help carryout Facilities Services orientated duties as required.

Specialist Cleaning Activities:

Toundertake any specialised cleaning (HPV cleaning) as and when instructed by asupervisor or manager following appropriate protocols and completion ofassociated documentation

Essential

CMI Level 3 Diploma Team Leader/Supervisor / NVQ Level 3 Supervisory Qualification OR Equivalent Level Experience Customer Service Level 2 or Equivalent Qualification/ Experience Basic Numneracy Basic Literacy

CMI Level 5 / NVQ level 5 Management Qualification OR Equivalent Experience
