Exciting Opportunity: Curriculum Lead of Vocational Learning at Our Secondary School in Farnborough

The school is seeking a talented, well-qualified, and inspiring individual to join their dedicated team as the Curriculum Lead of Vocational Learning. This exceptional role involves spearheading the development of a new vocational curriculum, covering child development, health and social care, and introducing a new GCSE in Design or Product Technology. The ideal candidate will be an expert in 'hard' technology and will teach the subject to students in Years 7 to 11. A teacher is already in place to manage the day-to-day operations of Child Development and Health & Social Care. The school intends to expand the team once the right leader is established.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a new vocational learning curriculum
  • Teach Design or Product Technology from Years 7 to 11
  • Collaborate with a specialist team and support vocational literacy and e-learning programmes
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the vocational curriculum
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency and student welfare
  • Maintain high teaching standards and contribute to school-wide initiatives
  • Engage, motivate, and challenge students for academic success in vocational subjects
  • Uphold school policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant subject (preferred)
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Expertise in the 'hard' technology area
  • Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum in vocational subjects
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Awareness of safeguarding practices
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to inspire students and manage classrooms effectively
