jjFOX is working with a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South of England, with an aim of providing outstanding education for all learners within a family of local academies.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Computer Science Team within an outstanding Sixth Form College. They are seeking a proactive individual to provide an excellent level of support to both staff and students in the College.

**The Curriculum Area of Computer Science Department**

There are currently four specialist teachers in the Computer Science department, teaching a cohort of over 250 students. They share a small and friendly office with staff who teach ICT. You would be teaching the OCR A level specification, 20% of which is a substantial programming project started in the first year of the two year course. You will teach programming fundamentals with Java and students also learn JavaScript and HTML (HTML, CSS and JavaScript are used to create the GUI for projects). You do not need to already have these skills but you must have an enthusiasm, capacity and willingness to learn them. The department has excellent resources and facilities, including interactive whiteboards and well maintained networked computers in all teaching rooms.

**The Post of Computer Science Subject tutor**

They are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:

- A thoughtful and self-reflective approach to pedagogy;
- A desire to be an outstanding classroom practitioner
- Excellent ICT skills that makes learning visible in the classroom
- Enthusiasm for working with 16-19 year old students.

- a mentor to help you through the first year (in particular);
- support from your curriculum manager and director of faculty; and
- an extensive programme for all new staff to help induct you into College life as well as to develop your approach to teaching.
