We are looking for

an enthusiastic IT Installation Technician to join our large support team working in our ‘outstanding’ hospitals. The post holder, as part of a team of two, will be responsible for the installation and support of desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices (iOS and Android) and ancillary equipment (monitors, keyboards etc). Work will come via two main avenues – an ongoing rolling equipment replacement project to refresh the Trusts oldest equipment and ad-hoc requests logged by the departments IT Service Desk. A proven track record in excellent customer service is crucial in this busy role. Work will be based around the main hospital campus in central Bristol, however the Trust has sites throughout the city, so a driving license is essential.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in the installation and support of IT hardware and a desire to further develop a career within IT support. They will be able to show initiative, adaptability and the ability to work to a schedule. Any previous experience working in an IT support environment is desirable.

We particularly welcome female applicants and those from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority candidates, as they are under-represented within Digital Services at this level

Working as part of the 3rd line support team, the post holder will be responsible for the provision of desktop software and hardware support to the Trust’s computer users. Particular focus will be around the Trust mobile device fleet, consisting mostly of iPads and iPods. Workload will be allocated by the Trust’s IT Service Desk. The post holder will be expected to manage allocated tasks accordingly; based on but not limited to physical route through the organisation, criticality
