Job summary

The postholder will sit within the Primary Care directorate, reporting to the Managing Director of Primary Care. They will be directly responsible for the relationship development, ongoing management and liaison with a number of key partners associated with primary care, the directorate governance and leading on or supporting, a number of projects/programmes, as appropriate.

The postholder shall lead on primary care governance, business and financial planning, policy development and implementation. This includes supporting the Managing Director of Primary Care, Associate Medical Director for Primary Care and the Director of Delivery to co-create with partners, and have oversight of the operating plans for primary care, assurance framework, an annual business and investment plan and management of the directorate's corporate functions.

Main duties of the job

This role will also require the post holder to lead key projects in response to and in support of the implementation of the Managing Director's priorities. This will require a wide range of skills, flexibility and confidence to take on varying responsibilities, often with minimal oversight. The postholder will also need to respond to ad hoc requests from the Associate Medical Director.

Working in a matrix way with the Business Manager to the Managing Director and the within the wider primary care directorate, the post holder will have responsibility for the business support structure for the directorate, ensuring a seamless and connected support function for the primary care senior management team.

In addition, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the Managing Director, Associate Medical Director of Primary Care and the Deputy Director of Primary Care Development to drive forward the work of the Primary Care Collaborative and respective provider groups.
