Main duties of the job

Strategically develop, manage and deliver the ICBformulary.

Coordinate trust input into a ICB formulary.

Develop and update key medicines management policies(Trust wide and those which impact across the ICP/ ICB).

Ensure effective functioning of the Trust MedicinesValue Group (as Professional Secretary) and contribute / coordinate trust inputinto the BOB ICB Area Prescribing Committee (APC).

Oversee, support and monitor the entry onto the Trustformulary of NICE, NHSE and key professional guidance within statutorytimeframes.

Evaluate efficacy, safety and cost impact of newmedicines.

Develop, review and update formulary relatedclinical guidelines and shared care protocol.

Line manages the MRC Digital TransformationTechnician.

Lead, direct and support staff under managementwithin the MRC team.

Provide support to the day-to-day MedicinesInformation / Advisory Service in response to queries received by the MRC.

Support pharmacy staff and healthcare professionalsto provide evidence-based information and advice regarding medicines.

Work with internal and external stakeholders toensure that high cost medicines comply with NICE guidance and are managedwithin commissioning intentions.

Job Title: Senior LeadPharmacist

Grade: 8a to 8b DOE

Job Type: Permanent

Ward/Dept: Pharmacy

Location: Wycombe (other sites in Buckinghamshire may berequired)

Hours: hours per week (plus Weekends, Emergency Duty Commitment, Extendedhours services and Statutory holiday duties on rota with other pharmacists)

To be successful in applyingfor this role you will need:

Registration with the General PharmaceuticalCouncil

Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society

Post-graduate diploma/MSc in clinically basedpharmacy or recognised equivalent

Extensive experience of hospital pharmacy atPost Registration Pharmacist level

Delivery of pharmacy services to a range ofspecialities

Delivery of a pharmacy service to a specialistservice

Experience of training of other pharmacy staff

Evidence of significant relevant ContinuingProfessional Development

Experience in education and training of othersincluding pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals

Responsibilities for this roleinclude:

Work with Pharmacy, Finance, commissioners andexternal stakeholders to develop and implement processes to ensure that highcost medicine income into the Trust is maximised.

Collaborate with, develop, and support the MRCDigital Transformation Technician to ensure formulary updates are implementedin appropriate timeframes.

Act as lead for Immunoglobulin use within the Trust,collaborating with the Thames Valley IVIG panel and ensuring MDSAS entries aremaintained within required timeframes.

Provide a Clinical Pharmacy service to wards anddepartments on rota as needed.
