The Seagate Derry / Londonderry Manufacturing site has been open for 30 years this year. We have over 1200 people working in our facility which is among the most advanced in the world, in the design, development, and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These recording heads write information onto and read information from the recording disc, within the data storage device.

We have an exciting opportunity within the Equipment Operations Team for a progressive candidate, wishing to take up a position in a high-tech working environment. The successful candidate will be working with a leading-edge employer, in a department which is critical to the production of magnetic read write heads used in data storage.

The Equipment sustaining team are responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, providing immediate response and efficient resolutions to down-time situations to ensure the continued efficient operation of our manufacturing facility.

Reporting to the Equipment/Facilities Sustaining Manager, this post will have responsibility of leading, supervising and developing a shift team of Engineering Specialists, so as to maximise the overall equipment availability and effectiveness.

About the role - you will:

The successful candidate will be an effective leader, with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop their team members. You will manage planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance across a vast range of complex Manufacturing equipment.

About you:

Manage team of Technicians, including the effective communication of goals, providing training and development opportunities and providing feedback on performance in a high performance team environment. Maintain focus on producing results that meet or exceed plans and goals. Report on the condition of equipment, analysing patterns of break downs and ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule as per the maintenance database system. Comply with Health & Safety procedures including the reporting of accidents/incidents/work related illnesses, regular safety audits, compliance with standard operating procedures. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness. Take the lead in downtime situations to resolve issues, providing an immediate response and timely resolution.  Adapt plans and manage changes that arise as a result of priority adjustments, resources, policies, organisation changes or technology. Provide engineering advice and support to site operational teams in regard to equipment performance.  Promote and drive the building of cross-departmental relationships within the Springtown facility to improve work effectiveness. Be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and promote a continuous improvement culture within the team.

Your experience includes:

Demonstrated leadership capability within a high performing team environment. Relevant Level 4 Qualification (e.g. Technical or Management) or 5 years previous experience in a similar role.

You may have:

A relevant health and safety qualification such as CSR gold, IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent A strong technical profile with demonstrated relevant experience analysing trends and patterns to identify preventative maintenance solutions and continuous improvement opportunities.
