About the role:

This is a hybrid role.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as the Triage and Early Interventions Officer for the new Thames Valley Adults Victim Service. You will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, Thames Valley Police, criminal justice agencies as well as other statutory agencies and third sector organisations across the Thames Valley.

Funded by the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley the Adults Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will be delivered in an innovative manner primarily through specialist group work provision - alongside online and telephone caseworker support. It will also play a vital role in making victims aware of crime and supporting agencies support victims of crime.

Your role will involve supporting people on the telephone, by text or email from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. You will process initial referrals received from the PCC's Victim First Hub making initial contact with victim survivors to confirm what type of support best meets their needs and referring them to the support. Your role will include case creation and updating systems. No two days will be the same and you will have the communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience.

You will need to be:

Confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.

You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.
