We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Nurse tojoin our service users care team in Leominster.
This is a part time, permanent role, offering acompetitive pay rate of £ per hour, equivalent to £46,176 per annum, basedon 24 hours per week.
Meet our service user:
Freddie is a happy 12-year-old boy who lives with his lovingparents and siblings at their home in Leominster.
He attends school full time with the support of his careteam and in his downtime, enjoys spending time with family and friends,reading, bowling, playing games, cooking, going to the park, and listening tomusic.
He also adores animals, so it would be great if you sharethe same passion, as he has dogs, cats, chickens, and a hamster.
Freddie is reliant on his care staff and family to supporthis mobility and requires assistance to participate in activities.
It is important to Freddie and his family that he makes hisown decisions and is involved in all aspects of care. Whilst he is unable tocommunicate verbally, he can express his wants and needs with the help of hiscommunication aids.
Our team provides specialist, 24/7 care to manage Freddiesclinical needs and this is delivered by our highly skilled HealthcareAssistants on a 2:1 basis throughout the day and a 1:1 basis overnight.
Main duties of the job
About the role:
Due to the complexities of his care, we are seeking anexperienced childrens nurse to join his team in the role of Lead Nurse ,on a permanent basis.
This is a part time, permanent role working 24 hours perweek flexibly, across Monday to Sunday. This could be made up of two 12-hourshifts, or a mixture of shorter shifts.
As Lead Nurse you will play a key role in training Freddiesteam of Healthcare Assistants, ensuring that they have the skills to confidentlymanage his clinical inventions which includes but is not limited totracheostomy care, ventilation management and enteral feeding.
Key duties of your role will include, but are not limitedto:
Providing ongoing support and supervision to keep staffup-to-date with best practice guidelines. Delivering clinical training and identifying trainingneeds Liaising with MDTs and attending key meetings whererequired Completing risk assessments where necessary Carrying out care plan reviewsIn addition to this, your role will include amixture of hands-on care, auditing and transcribing of paperwork and MARcharts, checking and ordering of stock and accompanying Freddie to hisscheduled appointments

Current NMC PIN Paediatric Registered Nurse Driver with access to a vehicle Tracheostomy Care Ability to flexibly work flexibly across Monday to SundayExperience with the following is desirable, however notessential to be successful for this role:
Ventilation Management Enteral Feeding (Gastrostomy) Bowel Management Intermittent Catheterisation Nebuliser Care Cough AssistKnowledge of Spinal Injury care, Acquired Brain Injury care,and seizure management would also be beneficial.
Freddie typically goes to specialist appointments witha Healthcare Assistant from his team, but sometimes you may need to accompanyhim. This may involve overnight stays away from home on certain occasions.
Hotel costs will be covered, and a contribution towardstravel and meals is available, this will be discussed further with successfulcandidates.
