We are a dynamic and supportive SEMH school located across multiple sites in the Wirral, dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Our students often come from traumatic backgrounds and display challenging behaviors, requiring a compassionate and consistent approach to help them overcome barriers and thrive.
The Role:
We are seeking empathetic and resilient Teaching Assistants to work with children and young people across Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and Key Stage 4. This role involves providing individualized support in the classroom, assisting with academic and personal development, and creating an environment of trust and encouragement where students can flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Work one-to-one or in small groups with students to provide targeted support.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel understood and supported.
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a calm, consistent, and professional manner.
- Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans and behavior strategies.
- Promote self-esteem, confidence, and resilience in students, encouraging them to engage with their education.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment for all learners.

- Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH or similar needs is desirable but not essential.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child support are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
