Job Description:
  • The client is currently seeking anindustry leading Associate II Vendor Outsourcing. The selectedcandidate will have the opportunity to support sourcing andcontracting for full service CRO contracts.
This role responsibilities include
  • Facilitating vendor selection RFI RFPcontracting and negotiation with a focus on CRO services outsourcedin support of Client clinical trials.
  • This person must be familiar with thecontracting framework and general legal terms. Must be able toreview contracts quickly and to negotiate business terms andsupport negotiation of legal terms.
  • Strong organizational and technical skillsare a must to ensure appropriate cataloging of terms and conditionsinto a database.
  • Assists other Vendor Outsourcing staff in resolving moderatelycomplex issues relating to contract negotiation or management andwith the support of internal customers and the Legal departmentassists in the contract negotiation process.
  • Has excellent communicationskills and is comfortable interacting with internal and externalteams such as clinical operations finance legal business conductvendor management and payments.
  • Completes tasks and projects under minimal supervisionand has the ability to manage competing priorities effectively andproficiently.

Delivery Excellence
  • Has experience incontract management
  • Implements global clinical development vendor strategy for aprogram or therapeutic areas
  • Manages contract activities for clinical developmentprograms providing consistent customer service and deliveringquantitative value through cost savings andtransformation/innovation
  • Supports the contract negotiation process across theentire life cycle including RFI vendor identification RFP vendorselection decision contracting negotiation change orders andensures proper closeout of agreements to maximize contract valueand achieve target savings
  • Ensure the vendor selection process is compliant bymanaging risks
  • Partners with other functions such as Compliance Legal andRegulatory as necessary
  • Collaborates with internal customers in vendor biddingand proposal development (RFP creation and analysis)
  • Partners with internal customersto develop study specifications and leverages benchmarking tools asappropriate
  • Hasexperience resolving complex issues relating to contractnegotiation and management
  • Supports the contract negotiation process for complexor high value contracts
  • Demonstrates understanding of regulatory and legalissues pertinent to clinical development
  • Is project focused and works with a sense ofurgency

  • Partnerswith internal stakeholders working on contracts in supportingresolution of complex issues relating to contract negotiation ormanagement

  • Offers suggestions for business solutions bytranslating requirements into effective sourcing solutionscontractual terms and process improvements
  • Asks probing questions to uncover businessneeds and recommends solutions (e.g. negotiating timelines whilemaintaining standards)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and highlight the needfor critical decisions related to clinical vendor agreementnegotiations and escalations
  • Consolidates data across functions according tobusiness requirements and recommends solutions to senior leadershipfor endorsement
  • Supports resolution of vendor project management issues (e.g.operational challenges including scoping issues) by identifying andaddressing deviations from established protocols
  • Identifies operational andsystematic issues including frequency and escalates to theappropriate level

  • Excellent communication skills and comfortlevel interacting with internal and external teams across alllevels including regular interface with stakeholders and leadershipteam members

Capabilities and Requirements
  • Experience in providing consistent customerservice
  • Knowledgeof the endtoend sourcing and contracting process including RFxcontract negotiation and change order management
  • Experienced in using systems andtechnologies in support of sourcing and contracting activities
  • Knowledge of theclinical research process and the regulatory environment acrossfunctions
  • Demonstrated productivity while working in fast paced and changingenvironment
  • Financial acumen to review analyze and understand cost drivers ofcomplex budgets
  • Legal clinical operations and regulatory acumen

Knowledge Experienceand Skills:
  • Relevant experience with a BA orMS in a relevant discipline
  • MBA or JD preferred
  • PMP/CPSM certification or equivalent a plus
