Job summary

Following the release of additional funding, Coventry & Warwickshire Mind is seeking applications from individuals who are keen to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within the NHS Coventry & Warwickshire Talking Therapies Service.

Interview - W/C 10th June 2024. Due to short timescales, we cannot change the interview dates. Applicants MUST be able to start in the role W/C 02/09/24.

Successful applicants will hold:

Postgraduate Certificate (M Level) qualification route -a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (, Registered Nurses and AHPs) Graduate Certificate (H Level) qualification route -2 Advanced Level GCEs or equivalent (, B-tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4) Relevant experience necessary for clinical practice: You will need clinical experience in the field of mental health, working with people experiencing common mental health issues, which can be a minimum of either:

Twelve months full-time direct clinical experience in a one-to-one or group setting OR 2 years part-time voluntary experience with an established charity (for example, Mind or Samaritans) who will provide you with direct clinical experiences.

Main duties of the job

In this role, the post holder will be required to attend at least 1 day of teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

Following a period of training you will be expected to manage a caseload of patients suffering from low-level mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, and low mood.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be a trainee psychological wellbeing practitioner within an NHS Talking Therapies Service and once trained will be delivering high volume,low intensity interventions and will assist in improving services for clientswith a range of common mental health disorders, particularly anxiety anddepression, within a stepped care framework that is equitable,non-stigmatising, accessible, responsive to local need and available to peopleaged 16 years and over.

The post holder will be expectedto work with people with different cultural backgrounds, using interpreterswhen necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will be expectedto undertake professional training in low intensity psychological interventionsalongside the delivery of psychological therapies as part of the Stepped CareModel. Working at Step 2 the postholderwill learn and deliver Step 2 cognitively informed interventions.

Demonstrate an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post. Demonstrate an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.

Ability to work under pressure. Able to attend a one day per week course. Driver with access to an independent means of transport for business use.

Desirable

Fluent in languages other than English.
