The Opportunity:
  
Reporting the Engineering Manager, the role of Graduate Engineer is to:
  • Undertake engineering design work, in support of projects, contracted by the Company in the field of subsea equipment for offshore energy and marine renewables sectors.
   
Key Responsibilities:
  
  • Provide technical solutions to engineering design problems. The creation of 2-D and 3-D engineering designs, detailed engineering drawings and schematics; using proprietary CAD packages.
  • Undertake engineering analysis and calculations, using Finite Element and classical techniques, including the selection of components and materials.
  • Undertake and participate in design reviews.
  • Review of engineering drawings.
  • Compilation and review of technical documentation: reports, calculation sheets, specifications, parts lists, test and operational procedures, manufacturing data.
  • Creation of assembly, installation and test documentation, as required.
  • Interface with other Engineering staff, clients, vendors, production facilities and technical service suppliers, as required to ensure effective completion of project engineering activities.
  • Undertake development training in line with IMechE UK-SPEC requirements
  
  
Qualifications and skills:
  • MEng Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline, minimum 2:1
  • Strong grasp of mechanical engineering subjects, particularly structural mechanics and materials technology.
  • Sound understanding of conceptual and detailed design processes
  • Strong analytical skills, including finite element analysis
  • Good working knowledge of engineering software – NSE use Solidworks, Mathcad and ANSYS FE
