Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Medical Technical Officers to join the All Wales Medical Genomics Service with a flexible approach to work for hours per week.

These are permanent, full time posts based at University Hospital of Wales - however, please note that we will be relocating to a new facility at Cardiff Edge in 2024 .

The All Wales Medical Genetics Service (AWMGS) provides a comprehensive clinical genetics and laboratory service clinical genetics services to the 3 million residents of Wales.

Welsh Government and the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee are investing in the All Wales Medical Genomics Service to ensure patient equity across the UK in accessing genetic testing methodologies. The investment has seen a £10 million investment over a 3 year period to ensure AWMGS stays in the forefront of genomic medicine and develops the best diagnostic genetic services for patients. The Directorate encourages personal development and you will be expected to take an active part in the appraisal process. Not only is this a busy and challenging specialty but you would also be joining a friendly, dedicated team in Medical Genetics.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
