Position Summary

As the Business Strategy Lead, you will play a crucial role in identifying growth opportunities to enhance our competitive positioning, analyzing market trends and staying connected with the broader peer and investor ecosystem, and driving the company's strategic initiatives. Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead projects that assess the viability of potential partnerships and market expansion efforts, including acquisitions, if they make sense for our organization. Responsibilities

Corporate Development and Market Intelligence

Partnerships and Acquisitions: Formulate our stance towards M&A, as well as partnerships. Should we choose to pursue M&A in the future, lead the evaluation and due diligence process for potential acquisitions, and partnerships.  Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to evaluate industry trends, competitive landscape, customer needs, and emerging technologies. Use data-driven insights to identify market gaps and potential opportunities. Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and analyze activities of competitors and peers, as well as industry trends, and market shifts. Provide regular updates to senior management on market dynamics and competitive threats. Networking within our ecosystem: Make and maintain connections within our broader ecosystems, including potential partners, acquisition targets, and investors. Complex financial modeling: Perform complex financial modeling, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis, to evaluate the financial viability of potential acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion efforts.

Corporate Strategy

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with FP&A and other cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement the company's long-term strategic plan. Identify and assess strategic growth opportunities and initiatives aligned with the organization's objectives. Financial Analysis and business case development: Prepare comprehensive business cases for proposed strategic initiatives, presenting well-structured analyses, financial models, and risk assessments to support decision-making processes.  Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives. Continuously track and report on the progress of ongoing strategic projects, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance, to ensure seamless execution of strategic projects and alignment with overall business goals.

Other: Supporting the growth of the local office, including supporting on occasion business development (e.g., RFP response), supporting the local leadership team in articulating regional goals and targets, getting involved in local internal projects and initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA is a plus 5-7 years of work experience in Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or related roles Prior experience in independently framing, driving decision making, and overseeing the execution of strategic projects  Preference will be given to those with corporate finance experience and demonstrated strengths in financial analysis Prior experience in a high-growth technology company, especially a B2B SaaS company, is advantageous Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Strategic thinker with a proactive and innovative mindset, capable of driving change and influencing stakeholders at all levels Self-started and can operate relatively independently (critical as the hiring manager is based in New York)
