To work independently and autonomously, providing assessment, support, care, treatment and advice to individuals, within guidelines and protocols identified for the role.
§To work within a multi-professional team undertaking practitioner role across two hospital sites, predominantly The Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
§On a day to day basis, and in consultation with the Physiotherapist and psychologist, to monitor the client’s progress, assess their response to treatment and use analytical skills to make judgement on when to change / progress programmes, informing the senior clinicians of any changes and updating the client’s record.
§To plan and implement treatment and care to patients within professional guidelines delivery of rehabilitation programmes, guided self-help etc.
§To keep the patient at the centre of his or her care, ensuring patient and carer participation in decision making.
§To take responsibility for the care and support of delegated patients.
§Deliver treatment/care as specified in a rehabilitation programme/ psychological formulation outline, under the guidance of a registered practitioner.
Main duties of the job Responsibility for the day to day care of patients including assessment and monitoring. Delivery of components of rehabilitation programmes under the authorisation of the qualified practitioner at The Horton General Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic centre. To tailor treatments to individual needs of each patient, applying knowledge learnt through formal learning and experiential learning. To provide information and advice to patients, that adheres to the evidence based approaches used with the pain rehabilitation service. To conduct follow up assessments to evaluate effectiveness of treatment outcome & provide ongoing support to patients. To assist hydrotherapy. To deliver exercise classes for patients with persistent pain under the supervision of a qualified physiotherapist. To deliver guided self-help programmes.
