We are working closely alongside a LocalAuthority in Greenwich to assist withthe appointment of a Disrepair Officeron a 6month contract highly likely tobe extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV forimmediate consideration.

Rate ofPay: 20.67 25.75 per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Tonegotiate and liaise with tenants leaseholders their legal andsurveying representatives Legal Services and other professionalbodies access arrangements to carry out pre and post inspections toidentify areas of statutory disrepair and defects under the currentHousing Disrepair Protocol.
  • To prepare detailedspecifications of work risk assessments and method statementsrelating to onsite inspections and produce estimates feasibilitystudies and plans for the cost effective processing of repairs.Obtain tenders and quotations from approved contractors ensuringcompliance with statutory budget and audit requirements standingorders and financial regulations.
  • To produceaccurate photographic records to support casework in Court assiststock condition purposes and to ensure recharges for repairs can becollected effectively. Maintain proper records of visits andinspection findings making recommendations to senior managers onany areas needing further actions.
  • To producedetailed expert reports and professional diagnostic surveys andrepresent the Council in Court as an expert witness give evidenceand assist the Court with technicalissues.
  • Investigate and assist with responsesto the Ombudsman service in relation to repairs and major worksissues ensuring responses are provided in a timely manner to agreedprocedures and timescales
