We are seeking a skilled Disrepair Officer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd, working closely with a Local Authority in a collaborative effort to address housing disrepair issues. This is a 6-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension based on client discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disrepair Assessment and Reporting: Conduct thorough assessments of properties to identify areas of statutory disrepair and defects, utilizing the Housing Disrepair Protocol as a guide.
- Repair Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed specifications of work, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure cost-effective repair processing. Obtain tenders and quotations from approved contractors, ensuring compliance with statutory budget and audit requirements.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate photographic records to support casework in Court, assist with stock condition purposes, and ensure effective recharges for repairs can be collected.
- Expert Witness and Reporting: Produce detailed expert reports and professional diagnostic surveys, representing the Council in Court as an expert witness and providing technical assistance.
- Investigation and Response: Investigate and assist with responses to the Ombudsman service in relation to repairs and major works issues, ensuring timely and compliant responses.
Requirements:
- Availability: Must be available to work immediately or at short notice.
- Right to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK.
