We are working closely with a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Disrepair Officer, on a 6-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £19.17 - £24.25 per Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • To negotiate and liaise with tenants, leaseholders, their legal and surveying representatives, Legal Services, and other professional bodies to access areas of statutory disrepair and defects under the Housing Disrepair Protocol.
  • To prepare detailed specifications of work, risk assessments, and method statements for on-site inspections and produce estimates, feasibility studies, and plans for cost-effective repairs. Obtain tenders and quotations from approved contractors, ensuring compliance with statutory budget and audit requirements, standing orders, and financial regulations.
  • To produce accurate photographic records to support casework in Court, assist stock condition purposes, and ensure recharges for repairs can be collected effectively. Maintain proper records of visits and inspection findings, making recommendations to senior managers on areas needing further action.
  • To produce detailed expert reports and professional diagnostic surveys and represent the Council in Court as an expert witness, provide evidence, and assist the Court with technical issues.
  • To investigate and assist with responses to the Ombudsman service in relation to repairs and major works issues, ensuring timely responses to agreed procedures and timescales.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
