We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Fundraising Compliance Manager to join our team.

At the National Trust our vision is to be recognised as a leading UK fundraising charity ensuring that people, now and forever, benefit from nature and heritage. We welcome new and diverse donors at all levels, inspiring their support for people and places.

What it's like to work here

We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine. We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve. We're for everyone, for ever and we really mean that.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues, attend team meetings and to carry out work as required.

What you'll be doing

As part of the Fundraising Operations team, you’ll build strong relationships within Fundraising Operations and the wider Fundraising Team. Your specialist knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks will ensure these are considered and respected in all aspects of fundraising activity.

As part of the Fundraising Operations team, you'll foster strong relationships across various teams and regions. Your expertise in regulatory frameworks will ensure compliance in all fundraising activities.

Collaborating with departments like Gift Processing, Data Protection Office, Governance, Legal Services & Operational Compliance, you’ll create resources that empower Fundraising colleagues with essential information and documentation.

Additionally, you'll develop training tools and share best practices, promoting a culture of confidence in self-service compliance and support in training delivery.

Who we're looking for

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role. We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Knowledge and experience of compliance relating to fundraising and advising how these apply to the development and implementation of new fundraising activity Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to and impacting fundraising Experience developing and delivering training sessions, resources and materials, both face to face and online Great communication skills with a keenness to build and share knowledge and learnings Experience of managing projects and co-ordinating multiple workstreams Ability to develop and communicate meaningful and concise reports and metrics Experience of using customer or supporter databases, as well as compliance knowledge around personal data
