Job summary
The Imaging Department consists of sites at both NNUH and Cromer Hospital, along with the NNUH Community Diagnostic Centre planned to open in February NNUH is recognised nationally and internationally for the quality and range of services provided and the Radiology Department is QSI accredited.
The Radiology PACS team are looking for flexible and motivated people to join our team.
We are looking for people that are passionate about providing an exemplary service, to work as part of a dynamic team helping to a deliver a safe and effective Radiology service at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The successful candidate will be able to work in a systemic and methodical way, using on their own initiative, be conscientious, and have excellent interpersonal communication and customer care skills. Applicants will have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize workload.
The PACS team at NNUH provides Radiology IT support to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Cromer Hospital, Breast Screening Services at the Norwich Community Hospital and the Radiology Academy. Despite being a small team, we process in excess of 2 million images per week on the PACS system, and provide specialist IT support to Radiology
System users across all sites. The team at NNUH not only provides services to clinical colleagues, but also supports local research teams along with other projects.
Main duties of the job
To provide a specialist support service to all individuals or departments, both internal and external, who require images and information from the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS). To work with all members of the team within the multi-disciplinary framework. To contribute to the provision of a high standard of care for patients.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
Day to day administration of hospital PACS system, including correcting and tidying anomalous studies, merging patients / studies and any other administrative functions.
Provide first line system and application support for all users of the systems - supporting all levels of users in all applications.
Create new requests and transfers on hospital image transfer system (IEP) and respond to outstanding requests and transfers in a timely fashion.
Prepare image CD's / DVD's for Medico Legal, Clinical, Research and patient requests as required and in line with current trust protocols and anonymising data where appropriate.
All in-house training is provided.
The part-time hours are flexible days of the working week between 8 am and 6 pm. The office core hours are between 9 am and 5 pm.

Job responsibilities
Assisting in the care of the interventional patient pre and post procedure (Specifically the nutritional and hydration needs of the patient if and when required) Assisting in the care of the patient undergoing insertion of a vascular access device Supporting and observing the patient during the pre and post procedure period identifying any concerns to the nursing team Assisting in measuring and recording of blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen saturation, wound care information and EWS (Reporting all variances to the senior departmental co-ordinator) . Maintaining a high standard of patient care within agreed occupational standards Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the benefit of the patient, appreciating each member of the teams needs and role. Maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity at all times Establishing effective communications between departments and all speciality disciplines within the department organisational structures Capture and maintain patient data/documentation using the various media within Radiology Soliton, Ice - patient documentation for both elective and non-elective groups. Participating in regular meetings of Radiology Staff either in or out of hours ( time to be given back for those meetings out of hours) Participating in the safe collection, transfer and return of pre and post procedure patients.To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.
