We have an exciting opportunity to become part of a unique team in a highly patient-focused role to collaborate with colleagues on shaping and developing patient service to put us at the cutting edge of IR developments as we grow as a team.

Radiology aims to recruit, nurture, and develop talent through our in-house specialist training programs, with supernumerary status for the first four weeks. Radiology Nursing has a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator, and we often provide teaching sessions for all staff to support skill progression.

We operate a seven day a week service with various shift lengths between the hours of 07:30-20:00, with some weekend commitment as required.

As post holder you will assisti in the care of Radiology patients during the pre and post procedure period by supporting the multidisciplinary team within the whole Radiology department including supporting patient flow through CT, MRI, DEXA and Ultrasound as well as working within the Norfolk Centre for Interventional Radiology (NCIR) and with the Vascular Access Team when inserting vascular access devices.

You will be transferring patients between the ward and radiology department.

You will support Radiology and Nursing personnel in providing a safe, high-quality environment for the carrying out of interventional procedures within radiology by:

- Assisting in the preparation of the scrub and circulating team in the procedure room
- Assisting the multidisciplinary team during interventional procedures
- Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels in the department and ordering as appropriate
- Assisting the recovery team in the preparation of the pre and post procedure environment
- Providing a safe departmental environment which minimises the risk of infection

- Assisting in the care of the interventional patient pre and post procedure (Specifically the nutritional and hydration needs of the patient if and when required)
- Assisting in the care of the patient undergoing insertion of a vascular access device
- Supporting and observing the patient during the pre and post procedure period - identifying any concerns to the nursing team
- Assisting in measuring and recording of blood pressure, pulse rate and oxygen saturation, wound care information and EWS (Reporting all variances to the senior departmental co-ordinator).
- Maintaining a high standard of patient care within agreed occupational standards
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team for the benefit of the patient, appreciating each member of the team’s needs and role.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Establishing effective communications between departments and all speciality disciplines within the department organisational structures
- Capture and maintain patient data/documentation using the various media within Radiology e.g. Soliton, Ice - patient documentation for both elective and non-elective groups.
- Participating in regular meetings of Radiology Staff either in or out of hours (time to be given back for those meetings out of hours)
