JobSummary:
To assist inthe operation and management of the Council Permit Scheme forRoadworks and Streetworks in accordance with the Statutory Guidanceand National Conditions for Permit Schemes New Roads and StreetWorks Act (NRSWA) 1991 and Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004 tominimise disruption to highway users. To ensure all permits arereviewed coordinated and managed accurately and efficiently toensure the safe and expeditious movement of traffic includingpedestrians.
KeyDuties(Sample):
Analyse anddeal with permit applications accurately and efficiently within theagreed timescales and in line with Statutory Guidance NationalConditions and the Cambridgeshire PermitScheme.
Assist in thecoordination of permits working as part of a team to resolve anyconflicts refusals or variation requests which must be acted onimmediately. Liaise with the utility company to a satisfactoryconclusion. Work as a team with Street Works Officers to assist inthe processing of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders RoadspaceBookings and Licences.
Maintain precise andaccurate and up to date records in line with permit proceduresNRSWA and TMAlegislation
Assist indealing with all aspects of Section 74 and FPN investigationsincluding ascertaining responsibility charge liability andcorrespondence with the utility company. Maintain accurate recordsto enablecomparison.
Assist inmanaging the fees fines charges and FPNs and ensure they aremanaged in line with New Roads and Streetworks Act TrafficManagement Act associated Statutory Guidance and Codes ofPractices.
EssentialExperience andQualification:
Knowledge ofthe New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 Traffic Management Act 2004and the Statutory Guidance and National Conditions for PermitSchemes
Experience of acomputerised street works database system to analyse and inputstreet works notices / permits.
Significant experience ofusing computerised mappingsystems
