Job Summary:

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a Highway Inspector for a 13-week contract. The role involves hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake pre-works site meetings and agree conditions
  2. Conduct inspections, take photographs, and prepare site reports
  3. Carry out S74 and S81 site inspections, compile information packs, and raise charges
  4. Provide daily advice and support to Street Works and Permit Coordinators
  5. Feedback to the Coordination team
  6. Provide witness statements as required
  7. Liaise with statutory undertakers and the Police regarding S278 and traffic management issues
  8. Deal with correspondence and third-party complaints
  9. Collect and maintain records, manage data, and perform accurate data entry

Requirements:

  1. A degree in a related subject or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  2. Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and its associated codes of practice/regulations
  3. Working knowledge of street works coordination, reinstatement of openings, and related matters
  4. Use of Insight/Symology systems or relevant equivalent
  5. Manage competing priorities and deadlines
  6. Able to accept responsibility for the consequences of own actions
  7. Personable and able to build rapport with stakeholders
  8. Experience with computerised mapping systems and street works database systems
