The role...

Within ourFamily Safeguarding Teams you will be able to work alongsideadultfocused practitioners working within our teams in thespecialist areas of substance misuse domestic abuse and mentalhealth to inform assessments and plans. You will also work withchildren and families who are experiencing challenges aroundcomplex neglect sexual harm physical harm risks outside of the homeincluding child exploitation and parental learning difficulties.

Here in Somerset our manageable caseloads letyou be the innovative and creative social worker you want to beundertaking direct work with children and young people to heartheir voice and understand their experiences. You will work withparents and the wider family network with access to Family GroupConferencing to support them to identify strengths tackle problemsand change interactions and behaviours. With permanent andexperienced Team Managers youll be well supported with regular andreflective group and personal supervision.

Whatwere looking for...

You will need to be aqualified social worker registered with Social Work England andhave experience working with children and families in social workwithin a Local Authority team. Experience of work within familycourts is essential.

You will be passionateabout relationshipbased social work proud of your profession andable to reflect and think creatively about how you can buildrelationships to make a positive difference to children andfamilies and empower families to make and sustain changes.

You will be a competent IT user able to use orlearn to use LiquidLogic.

You will need to holda full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle astravel is required within our beautiful county. The team for theMendip area is based in Shepton Mallet and we offer flexible hybridworking combining time spent with the teams in the office alongwith home working.
