About the job

The SAS Cloud and Information Services team is looking for a Build Engineer / Senior Systems Developer for the SAS Cloud team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will be responsible for all aspects of our data management systems in SAS Cloud.

You will be coming into a new and biggest growth area in SAS global. You will and have the chance to help to shape how we work in region while working for a variety of customers day-to-day.

SAS is expanding remotely managed and hosted Cloud Services for all SAS platforms into a growing list of global locations. As a Senior Systems Developer / SAS Cloud Build Engineer, you will work directly with customers and SAS teams in delivering robust SAS Cloud solutions into various cloud providers, with an emphasis on GCP. As a critical member of the SAS Cloud delivery team, you will lead in providing design expertise and delivery of cloud-based infrastructure, networking, customer connectivity, and installation of a full range of SAS Cloud products. Equipped with deep level of public cloud expertise, your contributions will enable SAS services to further grow and allow customers to fully capitalize on the skill, knowledge, and proficiency of SAS experts across the globe. You will focus on the underlying cloud services supporting SAS as well as specializing in specific technical areas in deploying and configuring highly available, performant, and scalable architectures.

As SAS Cloud Build Engineer, you will:

Designs, Develops, Automates and Improves delivery of remotely managed and hosted SAS Cloud Offerings. Provides product and services expertise for a breadth of SAS Cloud products and services, including installation, maintenance, documentation, customization, and utilization of product features. Works with customers on implementing and verifying pre-installation requirements to connect and remotely deploy Cloud infrastructure and SAS applications. Work with customers on interpreting SAS’s environment sizing recommendations and how they translate to actual infrastructure design and availability. Advising customers on authentication/authorization/single sign-on capabilities of SAS solutions. Advising customers in the areas of SAS Cloud operational management, high availability, disaster recovery, and security frameworks. Onboard customers into SAS Cloud and maintain standardized customer-specific documentation. Prepares and conducts system and validation tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software. Diagnoses and resolves preliminary software and hardware connectivity issues realized during delivery phase. Collaborates with other SAS Cloud teams to: Determine product offerings based on market demand and feedback loops Define and improve processes, workflows, internal documentation Identify opportunities for automation and develop tools, programs and systems that allow us to provide excellent service to a growing customer base using a lean and efficient support team Occasionally asked to participate in 24-hour, on-call service in support of the global SAS Cloud Operations rotation Staying current on Cloud technologies, SAS offerings, certifications, training, latest Analytics industry trends and general regulatory landscape. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Additional Responsibilities

Guides, coordinates, trains, and assist peers. Participates in establishing departmental objectives. Provides quality assurance internal review for other members of the group.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience of Cloud Platform Architecture and deployment including enterprise application installation and administration, architecting infrastructure requirements and system designs, and working in a complex cloud computing environment Preferred Cloud specific certifications - GCPGoogle Cloud Certified: Professional Cloud ArchitectGoogle Cloud Certified: Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer Right to work in the UK with abilty of security clearance (5+ years of UK residency) You’re curious, passionate, authentic and accountable. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Terraform and/or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Working knowledge of Kubernetes technologies in [GCP, AWS, Azure] cloud platform Working knowledge of networking concepts and various cloud/hybrid/on-prem networking implementations in [GCP, AWS, Azure] cloud platform Experience with enterprise application authentication and authorization, including single sign-on (SSO) Excellent work breakdown, organization and prioritization abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to find creative solutions to complex technical problems Collaborating with peer teams work well with others Experience interpreting complex system architectures and infrastructure designs Ability to independently learn new products, technologies and services using supplied documentation and other information sources.
