Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Manchester starting in September 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ADHD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
- Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment that fosters independence and confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with ADHD or other special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
