Job Type: Full-time (available for all shift patterns)
About Us: We are a dedicated residential home providing specialized care for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Role Overview: As a Team Leader in our children's residential EBD home, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home and leading a team of support workers. You will ensure the highest standards of care and support are provided to our residents, and that all regulatory and organizational requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have experience as a senior support worker or team leader, particularly within an EBD setting, and be flexible to work various shift patterns, including nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of support workers, providing guidance, supervision, and support.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to children and young people with EBD.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee the daily routines and activities within the home, ensuring they meet the needs of the residents.
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviours, providing support and training to staff in de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support.
- Conduct regular team meetings, supervisions, and appraisals to ensure staff development and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external agencies, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Monitor and maintain health and safety standards within the home.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and onboarding of new staff members.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a senior support worker or team leader in a children's residential EBD setting.
- Relevant qualifications in social care, childcare, or a related field are desirable.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of children with EBD.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across all shift patterns, including nights (sleep in and wake in) and weekends.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
