About the Role:

  • As an HR Advisor at Toad Hall, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive HR support to the Head of HR and the wider business. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for both management and employees, offering timely and effective HR advice on a range of issues. This role requires professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to fostering a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Prepare recruitment documentation, manage DBS renewals, and handle the administration of flexible working requests and leaves of absence.
  • Employee Relations & Legal Compliance: Provide support for employee relations casework, act as a note-taker during meetings, and ensure compliance with employment law by staying updated on legal changes and conducting annual audits of personnel files.
  • Payroll & Compensation: Input monthly payroll changes, support payroll processing, manage compliance with National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage regulations, and assist with annual leave buyback and bonus processes.
  • Training & Development: Oversee the Government Apprenticeship Service, deliver HR training sessions, and manage training feedback and recognition programs.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Coordinate Occupational Health referrals, support workplace wellness initiatives, and manage the administration of employee exit processes and reporting.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification with up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Proven experience in payroll, HR administration, and employee relations
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Access to own transport for travel to nursery settings
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check
