Job summary

Managing the Clinical Pathways work stream, including the development and/or redesign of endoscopy pathways across Wales

Establishment of a cross-system collaborative approach including primary/secondary care to enable equitable access

Engage stakeholders across NHS Wales to ensure the action plan is delivered

Progress the implementation of standardised & optimised patient referral & clinical pathways for endoscopy services across Wales

Apply a structured change management approach & methodology to support the impact of strategic change & ensure the implementation of work streams objectives

Critical to this role will be the ability to be clinically credible & knowledgeable building & maintaining strong relationships across the NHS community. To provide advice & leadership to develop standardised optimal endoscopy patient pathways from patient presentation to diagnosis through to treatment services. They will lead the improvement work needed to embed these pathways across NHS Wales in order to transform patient outcomes

Main duties of the job

Champion the work of National Endoscopy Programme maintaining clinical credibility with a wide range of stakeholders.

Engage with key stakeholders and develop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder's clinical staff/ managers/policy leads using appropriate communication methods & channels

Influence people & events formally and informally both inside and outside formal programmes, including the requirement to develop/maintain constructive relationships when reconciling/resolving situations of conflict.

Provide highly specialised clinical advice, guidance and support with the expertise and ability to adapt to any given situation

Lead the co-ordination of national events where required

Where barriers exist to the development and/or implementation of the programme aims the post holder will be required to challenge the workforce/senior service managers/clinicians. This will require the use of highly developed communication/inter-personal skills & may involve situations requiring the effective management of conflict.

Present and receive highly complex information & ideas both verbally & in writing using advanced negotiation & persuasive skills to ensure messages are conveyed accurately to multi-disciplinary audiences

Develop/produce detailed complex reports/graphs/charts & associated presentation materials using a variety of software applications.
