Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Support worker-Higher Level you will work as an integral part of the team and demonstrate a willingness to develop the knowledge and skills required to assist in caring for renal haemodialysis patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Providing assistance to the nursing team in the process of haemodialysis and working collaboratively and co-operatively to meet the needs of patient's and their families within the sphere of your level of competence related to in-service training, at the discretion of the unit manager.

Renal Unit Training Programme part 1 competencies or equivalent Health related level 2 apprenticeship and QCF (or equivalent qualification). Commitment to successfully complete the level 3 apprenticeship and QCF as identified by department (or equivalent qualification) within 12 months of employment. Willingness to successfully complete the part 2 Renal Unit Training Programme.

Desirable

Good basic education Health related level 3 apprenticeship and QCF (or equivalent qualification).

Previous Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a renal haemodialysis setting.
