If you're looking for a career where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, then this may be the job for you.
Role: Support Worker
Salary: £11.59 - £11.89 per hour
Service: De Parys, Bedford
Your Benefits
Consensus is a certified Great Place to Work and here's just a small selection of the benefits you'll enjoy:
  • Career Ladder: Those with NVQ Level 2 or 3 earn up to £11.89 per hour, and our dedicated career ladder provides clear opportunities for your future progression.
  • Learning & Development: We want you to succeed - supporting your personal and professional growth with training and qualifications to enable you to achieve your full potential.
  • Financial Benefits: You'll receive Life Assurance of twice your annual basic salary and can withdraw a percentage of your wages as you earn them before payday with Wagestream. You also have access to Discounts from over 150 retailers through our employee benefits platform.
  • Health & Wellbeing: From confidential telephone counselling, Mental Health First Aiders, dedicated wellbeing support and an Employee Assistance Programme - colleague wellbeing is a priority and we're here to support you.

Your Role
Our Support Workers are our greatest asset. Through understanding the needs of the people you support, you'll provide exceptional care that truly changes lives. A career with meaning, you'll also have a lot of fun, too - from helping with daily tasks to amazing trips that make dreams come true.
  • Help the people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities - empowering them to enjoy a great life filled with amazing experiences.
  • Get involved in the community, support during leisure and social activities, and celebrate special occasions.
  • Communicate appropriately, considering individual communication needs, and helping people to communicate effectively with others, too.
  • Work across various shift patterns including early, late, weekend or night shifts. Full time and part time positions are available.

Your Service
De Parys is a lively, cheerful home near Bedford Town Centre that gives the opportunity for people to live in a supportive setting but achieve a level of independence and freedom. People living at De Parys take the lead in their home, deciding how to decorate, what to cook, and what activities they want to see - recently the team set up a games room with pool and darts because everyone loves playing together and having tournaments.
Next Steps
  • Once you've applied our dedicated in-house recruitment team will call to share more about the role.
  • The next step will be an interview in the service, where you'll meet the team and the people we support.
  • If successful, we'll organise your Free DBS Check and references prior to confirming your start date.
  • Your journey will then begin with a 3-day online induction, before heading to the service to get started.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, and no experience is needed. You may be new to care, or already have experience in the social care sector or NHS (Mental Health Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant). As long as you come with a person-centred approach, a caring nature, and you are able to demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team to support disabled and autistic people - then we're here to provide you with the training and knowledge needed to succeed.
